SC 2014 Semilab: Microcontroller Programming for Young Inventors

by Helmut Strey

This Lab will introduce you to programmable electronics using the Arduino microcontroller. In five individual labs you will learn how to program a microcontroller and how to interface it to the real world using sensors, buttons and displays.

Specific topics by day:

  • Introduction to microcontrollers: Blinking LEDs, potentiometer, multi-color LEDs,
  • Push buttons, reading photo resistor, temperature sensor,
  • Driving relays and motors, creating sound,
  • Communication with computers,
  • Invent your own circuit
