Biosensors and Deception: Building a Lie Detector

In this lab we will integrate psychology (deception), physiology (arousal and working memory), engineering (electrodes, transducers, and signal processing), and applied mathematics (statistics), to test whether our lie detector is able to identify the perpetrator of a crime. The week will be structured as follows:

Day 1:  Theory of Lie Detection, Introduction to Biosensors;
Day 2:  Introduction to Signal Processing, Topics in Research Design;
Day 3:  Data Collection (Beat the Lie Detector!);
Day 4:  Signal Processing of our Biosensor Data;
Day 5:  Statistical Analysis of our Biosensor Data

Difficulty level: Introductory
