In the modern world, data is generated faster than it can be analyzed. Many objects in these datasets have multiple numerical traits. Take humans; for example, we have weight, height, age, number of followers on Instagram, number of memes we forward to our friends daily, etc. Scientific experiments also generate a lot of data, which is why data analysis skills are very important for hands-on scientists. In this semilab, we will use MATLAB to analyze the results of actual cell biology experiments done in my lab, apply dimensionality reduction techniques to visualize the multidimensional data, and use simple machine learning methods to draw conclusions from the experimental results.
