Humans have tied knots since ancient times. We shall learn how to tie knots for sailing, climbing, camping and decoration. We shall also draw knots on paper. The question arises of which knots are the same and which are not. We will try to answer this question by developing elements of a beautiful mathematical theory.
This semilab will combine an introduction to the mathematical theory of knots with the art of knot tying and drawing.
