Constructing a Language

Conlanging (or Constructing Languages) became very popular starting from Esperanto and artificial languages created by JRR Tolkien and all the way to the recent movies, such a Star Trek (Klingon) and The Game of Thrones (Dothraki). In this Semilab, each student will work on creating their own language. To do that, we will be looking at what any language must consist of (Vocabulary, Phonetics, Phonology, Morphology, Syntax) and interesting properties of existing human languages, and then combine them to create new languages. Knowledge of a language other than English is preferred, but not required.
