Hands-on Analysis of Social Networks

We will introduce modern tools and concepts of complex network analysis using social networks as a hands-on example. Participants of this semilab would be able to explore and visualize their friendship networks in Facebook, Google+, Twitter, LinkedIn. I will introduce concepts of network hubs, clusters, bottlenecks, etc. We will show how rumors, and epidemics can rapidly spread across social networks and how network hubs facilitate this process.
