We just finished our first day at SigmaCamp! After a hearty breakfast, campers attended lectures on soft robotics, Benford’s Law, and mitochondria.
They then went to their semilabs and competed in the math and physics tournament. In the Surprises in Probability Semilab, campers learned about the Monty Hall Problem.
During breaks, campers swam in the lake, played chess and ping pong in the game room, and kicked around a soccer ball. After dinner, workshops included learning how to change oil on a car, the aerodynamics of racing, and treasure hunting.
The day ended with evening clubs, with the Genium Trivia Challenge as a highlight—where a camper team took home the win!
