The last day of Sigma Camp was full of excitement, radical change of schedule several times during the day added to the mystery.
Lectures were a great success. Natasha Markuzon took the prize for highest attendance for neural networks. Moira ‘s incredible demonstration of topology of Platonic Solids in many dimensions. Dennis Sullivan concluded the mathematical lecture series to make faculty happier as well as campers. Boris Podabedov shared his insider knowledge of the electron colliders in search for the largest beam on Earth.
Whole camp competition of Brain Quest was full of excitement. Visitor scientist team was beat by the Row team of campers and the “team-couch” (Sigma faculty).
Preparations for the Red Riding Hood skits in various stylistic genres took up most of the afternoon and stretched everyone’s creativity and imagination. Performances ran way past the allotted time and had to be interrupted for light dinner.
Sigma closing and award ceremony was accompanied by constant yells of approval during the reading of individual diplomas. Sigma Spirit container was signed by all campers and the spirit securely stored in it by the able hands of camp favorite true magician M*A*R*K
Faculty and campers mutually inspired and exausted each other this week. Sigma is now closed. The campers are having their last night together as a full all-nighter of last minutes/hours of socializing, hopefully until the next year.
