Today, campers arrived at SigmaNext and were warmly welcomed as they checked in, met their teams, and got to know their counselors. The day kicked off with the SigmaQuest, an exciting challenge in which teams created short movies to introduce themselves—each inspired by a unique cinematic genre, including horror, sports documentary, and period drama.
In the afternoon, campers toured the workshop spaces where, over the coming days, they will embark on original and inventive STEM projects, guided by our faculty.
The evening concluded with our opening ceremony, beginning with a thought-provoking lecture on quantum gravity by Alex Frenkel. Campers then enjoyed viewing each other’s short movies before taking part in the traditional release of the SigmaSpirit. The night wrapped up with a team time in their cabins, setting up the stage for a week of collaboration, creativity, and discovery.
