Rise and shine, campers!
Breakfast came early once again, alongside with our morning exercise session, giving campers the fuel they needed before going back into their semilab work!
Lectures followed SigmaBreak, with topics ranging far and wide. Alex Frenkel had campers rethinking the universe's origins in "What Came Before the Big Bang," while another talk took a completely different turn, walking campers through the world of cryptography under the intriguing title "How to Tell a Secret in a Crowded Room."
Instead of SigmaTournament, today belonged to TEDxSigma, with every camper taking the stage for a five-minute talk on a topic of their choosing. The range was impressive, from "Are Airships the Future?" to "The Cosmic Distance Ladder," with others exploring everything from ancient Greek mythology's lasting relevance to the neuroscience behind how we practice and learn. Campers cheered each other on through talk after talk, walking away having learned something new from nearly every friend in camp.
Evening workspaces gave campers even more to dig into, whether that meant charting the stars in Adventures in Astronomy with Valentin and Dina Black, working through logic puzzles in Lean Theorem Prover with Sophie Strey, exploring the basics of electric force in Coulomb's Law with Adam Liu and Boris Barron, or testing their mathematical knowledge in So Wrong with Krerley Oliveira.
As for evening clubs, campers had the so awaited Chamber Concert on the schedule, where campers showed their talents once more by performing beautiful songs to the camp! Along with what was set to be Stargazing, but rain had other plans, sending everyone scrambling for cover and turning the night into an impromptu indoor adventure instead.
