Mathematical and Algorithmic Models of Social Phenomena

This semilab will explore mathematical and algorithmic approaches to understanding several social phenomena, from “herding” to neighborhood segregation to the ways we pair up people with jobs. We’ll use hands-on activities to see how the models actually work, learn the math that makes them tick, and talk about how to (carefully!) interpret the “lessons” they teach us.

Difficulty level: Introductory
