At SigmaCamp Next high school students aged 15-17 can dive deeply into advanced topics in mathematics and science. SigmaCamp Next is one of two programs we offered that summer. Learn more about our other summer camp - SigmaCamp 2024 (for students aged 12-16).
The format of SigmaCamp Next adapts the summer STEM camp experience of SigmaCamp for older students, supporting them as independent learners who wish to spend one week (August 18-25, 2024) pursuing their passion for learning advanced math and science. The instructors at SigmaCamp Next are researchers from top institutions such as MIT, Stanford, Harvard, Berkeley, Stony Brook, and many other universities.
SigmaCamp Next shares SigmaCamp's multidisciplinary approach, offering an in-depth exploration of advanced Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics (both theoretical and experimental), Biology, and Chemistry.
SigmaCamp Next academic program has a more focused and self-directed approach. Students are encouraged to dive deeply into a chosen subject through a 10-class Semilab course and two brief Lecture courses. Additionally, the program features an evening Workshop Space for each subject, facilitating mentorship and support for independent discoveries and experiments. The Sigma Tournament remains a highlight to challenge teams in solving problems.
Every year, around 25 scientists from top U.S. Universities and Research Centers come to our summer camps to share their knowledge and passion for math and science with campers. Several guest speakers visit the camp daily as part of our Guest Lectures Program.
Spans from high school students to those in college as well as graduate-level students. Many of our counselors are alumni who have chosen to return as volunteers, bringing with them a unique understanding and appreciation of the camp experience.
