Recommendation letters 2026

• Admitted to the camp through the Problem of the Month contest (POM): you should have been notified about it via email and you do not need to obtain letters of recommendation.
• Returning students (attended any previous SigmaCamp or SigmaNext): If you are a returning student, you are not required to submit letters of recommendation – we already know who you are! You are considered a returning student only if you have attended camps in the U.S. (not Brazil)

• New students (not admitted through the POM): Obtain two letters of recommendation:
  1. Math/Science rec. letter - from your Mathematics or Science teacher.
  2. Personal rec. letter - from an adult who knows you personally (not a family member). This may be a family friend, a music teacher, an athletics coach, a chess coach, etc.
  If you apply to multiple camps, such as SigmaCamp, Sigmawest, or SigmaNext, you can use the same recommendation letters; there is no need to submit multiple sets of them. See full instructions below.
