SigmaNext 2026: How to Apply

To apply to SigmaNext 2026, you must complete the steps of the application process listed below. The application deadline is March 15, 2026. All applicants will receive their admission decisions by April 5, 2026.

You may apply to and attend any number of our camps this year: SigmaNext, SigmaCamp, and/or SigmaWest. For SigmaNext, you need to submit solutions to the Entrance Exam (EE). If you are also applying for SigmaCamp and/or SigmaWest (you are 14–15 y.o.), you must additionally submit the Qualification Quiz (QQ) only once, as it applies to both camps. Each camp application requires a separate essay. Only one recommendation letter is required for all camps.

Brazilian candidates: We currently offer academic camps in both the United States and Brazil. Brazilian students will be accepted to SigmaNext 2026 only through SigmaChallenge 2025.

Log In to Your Student Account

You only need one account for all your applications and submissions.
Already have an account from previous years or from POM? Just log in.
New here? Create an account to get started!

1. Start Your Application

Fill out a very short form and check one or more camps you’re interested in. Please do this as soon as possible, even if your plans might change. There’s no obligation.

Please note that you must complete this form before you can submit any application materials, including an essay, a recommendation letter, the Entrance Exam (EE), or the Workspace Project Proposal (WPP).

2. Tell Us About Yourself

Write a short essay telling us all about you and what you are interested in.
All applicants are required to submit it (new and returning).

3. Get Recommendation Letter

Only new applicants are required to submit one letter of recommendation from a math or science teacher.

Returning campers (attended any previous SigmaCamp or SigmaNext) may skip this step.

4. Solve the EE or submit the WPP

New students: Solve three problems from the Entrance Exam (EE). The EE includes nine problems from the five semilab disciplines—two problems from Math, Physics, Biology, and Computer Science, and one problem from Chemistry—all prepared by the SigmaNext semilab instructors.

Returning students (attended any previous SigmaCamp or SigmaNext): You don't need to take the EE. Instead, submit the Workspace Project Proposal (WPP) and contribute to shaping what you and other students will learn and do during the Workspaces by proposing ideas, setting goals, and helping to design the projects we run.

Good Luck!
